About Me

Trish James Manchester Homeopath

Science and health:

I started my career as a scientist qualifying with a BSc in Physics back in 1980. After working within the NHS, I completed an MSc in Science and Technology Policy researching infertility and reproductive technology. My interest in women's health issues and health in general began.

Advice and information:

For many years I worked within the area of advice and information, working directly with the public providing help and support on a range of issues including housing, money, education, employment rights etc. I began to recognise how all of these issues can have a huge impact on a person's health.

Young people:

I then worked within young people services, jointly managing an advice, information, counselling and sexual health service, a partnership between the local authority and the NHS. Many young people accessed the service for a range of health issues including mental, physical and sexual. In addition, I managed a number of mental health projects, one of which was part of the local Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.

This work has given me invaluable experience of working with young people, their parents and carers.

Homeopathy:

My interest in homeopathy began in the 1980's when I successfully treated myself using a first aid remedy bought from my local chemist.

I then sought treatment from a qualified homeopath as I was continuously visiting my GP as I felt run down, had repeated sore throats and was suffering badly from the eczema which had affected me since being a small child. The treatment was extremely successful and I have continued to use homeopathy ever since.

I attended homeopathy first aid classes and then enrolled on a 5 year part-time course with the North West College of Homeopathy, Manchester, qualifying in 2008.

I am registered and fully insured with the Society of Homeopaths. I continue to attend training to ensure that my practice is up to date and to further my knowledge in this fascinating subject.

Interests:

I have a particular interest in women's health issues and the health of children and young people, although I enjoy working with a wide range of people affected by many different health issues including physical, mental and emotional.

When not working as a homeopath I enjoy gardening, dog walking, films, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
